Kids from the Elementary...
La Paz are a powerful melodic 80's rock band. Based in Scotland, they toured extensively during the mid to late 1980s, were well respected musically and built a very healthy and loyal fan base. They were covered regularly in the UK music press and were on the cusp of a recording contract when...well, when one of the reversals of fortune that happen in the music business stepped in and their record company changed the script without warning.
Doogie White (vocals) headed off to London where he eventually joined Ritchie Blackmore in his final Rainbow lineup and that was pretty much that for La Paz...and then in January 2008, Doogie and Chic McSherry (guitar) were invited to play at the prestigious 96.3 Rock Radio's 1st Birthday Party. They played a 5 number acoustic set to almost 1000 people in The Garage, Glasgow along with a host of other rock luminaries (Gun, SAHB, Thunder, Logan, The Almighty).
La Paz has its share of disadvantaged kids and we are happy to be involved with a local charity in the La Paz/Cabo San Lucas area which sponsors kid's football clubs in local schools. The kids get breakfast provided for them as well as team strips and are looked after by a group of dedicated volunteers. All profits from sales of our music will go to these kids.
Due to the generosity of La Paz and Doogie White fans we are now able to sponsor 12 teams in the Cabo/La Paz area. A big thank you to all those who downloaded tracks or donated money:
